In November 2016, Safe Work Australia published a new research report Bullying and Harassment in Australian Workplaces: Results from the Australian Workplace Barometer Project 2014/15.

The key aims of this report is:

  • to ascertain national prevalence data of workplace bullying and harassment
  • to provide insights into the nature and extent of bullying and harassment
  • to identify high-risk industries, and
  • build an explanatory model of bullying.

The report found that the national average bullying rate was 9.6%. This represents a sizeable increase since 2009-11, where Australian workers reported experiencing 7.0%.
