Today is World Suicide Prevention Day

Workplace bullying has been identified as a precursor to suicidal thoughts. In a seven year study of more than 1800 participants, bullied employees were twice as likely to be considering ending their lives compared to those who had not been bullied.

We have lost people in our workplaces. From 19yo waitress, Brodie Panlock in 2006 to supermarket employee, Brenton Walsh, in 2013. From hospital nurses Desmond Ponting (2015) and Andrew Earl (2017) to government employee, Paula Schubert (2016). These are the people who have ended their lives that we know about.

Building mentally safe workplaces, free from bullying, can save lives

The earlier you act, the better the outcome.
